After the page and libraries load, processing happens on your device. A connection is only needed to load the app the first time.

Which camera does Scan to PDF use?

On phones and tablets the Take photo option opens your camera app. On desktop, the Camera option uses your webcam after you grant permission, and Upload accepts photos from any scanner or phone.

Why does the browser ask for camera permission?

The live Camera preview needs your consent before it can show video. If you deny it, you can still scan by taking photos and uploading them instead.

What image formats can I scan from?

JPG, PNG, and WebP photos all work. Camera captures are saved as JPG automatically to keep the PDF small. iPhone HEIC shots: convert first in [StackImage Convert](https://stackimage.stacktools.studio/convert-image).

Does Scan to PDF crop and straighten automatically?

Yes. Every captured page is checked for paper edges and tilt and fixed on your device. If an auto-fix looks wrong, open Adjust to crop, straighten, or apply a filter, or rotate, re-run detection, or revert to the original photo.

How many pages can I scan into one PDF?

As many as you need. There is no page-count or upload quota — capture or import unlimited pages free, reorder them, and download one multi-page PDF.
