Do I need an account to use PDF to PDF/A?

No. StackPDF is free to use without signing up or creating an account.

Does PDF to PDF/A work offline?

After the page and libraries load, processing happens on your device. A connection is only needed to load the app the first time.

Is the output a fully compliant PDF/A-1b file?

The tool removes content PDF/A forbids and adds the required PDF/A-1b identification, which covers everyday archiving needs. Strict ISO conformance (e.g. color profiles and font embedding) should be confirmed with a dedicated PDF/A validator when a submission is legally binding.

What gets removed during conversion?

JavaScript, automatic actions and embedded file attachments are removed when present, and encryption is dropped. The applied steps are listed after every conversion so you can see exactly what changed.

Is PDF/A conversion free and unlimited?

Yes. Convert as many archives as you need with no account and no upload size quota — ideal for bulk records that must stay on-device.
